Food Pantry
We are blessed to be closely associated with the Town of Litchfield’s food pantry in Bantam. We have staffed the pantry since early 2023, and have seen this ministry grow and serve over 30 families per week.mThe pantry is a haven for people with food needs, and they are all treated with dignity and a smile by UMCLB members happily doing God's work.
Outreach
Our small but mighty group participates in annual drives such as New Beginnings, which helps outfit underprivileged students in the fall, and our Mitten Tree, decked out in winter accessories for local families. We also participate in New York Annual Conference drives such as packing health kits that go overseas, and Operation Christmas Child, involving filling shoeboxes with festive items for needy children everywhere. Bible Study
Biblical scripture is an integral part of our worship experiences. We augment that with deeper looks at Biblical texts in small group gatherings during the week. Breakfast sessions at Jackie’s Restaurant in Bantam Tuesday mornings meet weekly. All are welcome.
